Bebe Rexha presents Kylie Minogue with the Icon Award at Billboard's Women In Music 2024.
Hello everyone, how are you feeling? I mean, what a night. Each time it gets better and better. And it will be even better because I will be able to give an icon an award.
I grew up listening to her and she's just one of my, I mean, my favorite dance musician. Her name is Kylie Minogue. This extraordinary singer-songwriter, actress and model has been making music for more than three decades, she is doing well. She has had hits on multiple Billboard charts, starting with her first Hot 100 Top 10 in 1988. Well, “The Local Motion.” Over the years, she has charted seven songs on the Hot 100 and 11 albums on the Billboard 200. And it's no wonder why we can't get her out of our heads, ladies and gentlemen.
Honestly, it has been extraordinary, it is not extraordinary or extraordinary. It's extraordinary, right? Whatever. She has been an incredible role model for many of us and she encourages us to do what we love and follow our hearts, and she continues to innovate and break boundaries. More recently, in fact, she beat me in this category, but the first Grammy awarded her for best dance pop recording for “Padam Padam” and she said that “Padam Padam” is the sound of a heartbeat. And I just want to say one thing, it's okay. Um, being a woman in the music business who looks up to her and being in this category suitable for dance pop. I always feel like in the music business we're always judged by numbers, right? Our age, especially, as women, our weight, and she beat us all in one category and she's 55 and looks fucking amazing, she's fine. So I'm telling you right now, the numbers age anything that doesn't define you because she's winning Grammys and beating all of us here in dance music, okay?
That's why it's an honor to present this year's Billboard Woman in Music icon to someone who has captured our hearts year after year with her style and spirit and, of course, her sensational sound.
I mean, come on, she's the queen. Make some noise for Kylie Minogue.
You have this girl. Did you understand it? Well then. Are you serious?
