Bebe Rexha is doubling down on her recent post slamming G-Eazy, even if she did remove it from her Instagram Story.
Hours after calling the rapper an “ungrateful loser” and saying that their 2015 collaboration “Me, Myself & I” was his “only real hit,” Rexha tweeted Thursday (June 13) that her team had asked her to delete the remarks from her account — and she obliged. “I decided to remove it because it felt very negative and toxic,” she explained. “Sometimes trauma can lead us to react that way, and that period of my life was traumatizing.”
However, the “Meant to Be” vocalist revealed she’s now having second thoughts. “I am writing this because I regret taking it down,” she added. “I want to say that I still stand by what I said.”
She also retweeted a fan’s post featuring a photo of her sitting with Halsey — who recorded “Him & I” with G-Eazy in 2017 — sitting next to each other at the 2019 VMAs. “Bebe Rexha and Halsey talking about how they carried G-Eazy’s career,” it reads.
Billboard has reached out to Rexha’s and G-Eazy’s teams for comment.
Rexha’s original post about the “No Limit” artist came after she says a member of her team asked via text whether she wanted to shoot social media content with G-Eazy. Sharing a screenshot of the message, the singer wrote, “You have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself you stuck up ungrateful loser.”
“You’re lucky people are liking you again,” she added, tagging G-Eazy. “‘Cause I could go in on all the sh–ty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit.”
“Me, Myself & I” first debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2015 and later peaked at No. 7 the following March. In 2017, Rexha and G-Eazy teamed up again for “F.F.F.” on the former’s EP All Your Fault Pt. 1, which reached No. 51 on the Billboard 200.
