Bebe Rexha is opening up about her experience with G-Eazy following the release of their collab, “Me, Myself, and I,” calling the rapper an “ungrateful loser” in a new post Thursday.
The pop star shared a screengrab from her team’s group chat on Instagram, where she’s asked if she’d be interested in shooting content with G-Eazy after their 2016 radio hit went viral online in the last few weeks. In her Instagram Story, Rexha slammed the Freak Show rapper, accusing him of mistreating her, and declining the offer.
“You have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself you stuck up ungrateful loser,” she wrote. “You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the sh*tty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit.”
“Me, Myself, and I,” the song Rexha wrote and is featured on G-Eazy’s When It’s Dark Out, has been surging in streams over the last few weeks after unexpectedly going viral on TikTok. It stands out as G-Eazy’s most-streamed song to date on Spotify with over 1.2 billion streams. The only other song of his to come close to that number is “Him & I” with ex-girlfriend Halsey, which is just shy of 1 billion listens.
Rexha alluded to the streaming data, retweeting a fan account’s post with the caption, “Bebe Rexha and Halsey talking about how they carried G-Eazy’s career,” alongside a photo of the two women speaking to each other during an awards show.
Reps for Rexha and G-Eazy did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s requests for comment.
In a video several weeks ago, Rexha shared how she originally wrote the song as a clubbier track titled “I Don’t Need Anything” about her love for music.
“I played it for someone in the music industry because I wanted it to be my single. They were like, ‘Nah.’ At the time, I was listening to this guy called G-Eazy so I was trying to get in with him any way I could,” Rexha said, explaining how the two connected via a manager and a friend. “That’s how ‘Me, Myself, and I’ came to life.”
The singer explained how “it’s kinda funny” hearing the song years after she dropped it with the rapper. She also performs her solo version of the song — and dancier, rapless version — during live shows.
The new comments from Rexha come days before G-Eazy is set to release his upcoming album Freak Show. He led the LP with singles “Anxiety” and “Femme Fatale” with Coi Leray and Kaliii earlier this year. Meanwhile, Rexha released single “Chase It (Mmm Da Da Da)” last month.
