Ahead of the launch of their coast-to-coast North American tour this month, Belle and Sebastian released a new song, 'What Happened to You, Son?'
Stuart Murdoch says about the song:
“'What Happened to You Son' was taken quite randomly from the last LP because it seemed like the LP was too long a track. He came out.
The song is about my youth and the funny hole I fell into in my late teens. I was failing in my college career, failing at almost everything I tried back then. I was obsessed with the music of the time, I used to pay a lot of attention to the lyrics, messages and feelings of certain bands from the 80s era; It probably wasn't healthy.
So, although the subject matter of this song is a bit accusatory, the fault lies with the viewer. I could have logged out at any time. Instead, I let singers become my pen pals and my deities.
The song attempts to address what happens when pop stars grow, change, take a different path, and seem to betray the stance they held when you loved them the most.
Hopefully the song ends though. There is always a path to follow, always a light that guides you if you look carefully, if you give a part of yourself, if you let yourself flow and change.”

Full dates are available for the band's first U.S. shows in nearly two years, including festivals and headlining stops in New York, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and points in between, with support from Haley Heynderickx and The Weather Station . found below.
Last year, Belle and Sebastian released Late Developers, the second of two consecutive albums following last year's A Bit of Previous. It's a sincere embrace of the band's brightest tendencies that's not only fresh and immediate, but also has that B&S je ne sais quoi: the feeling that the group will always be there for you with the perfect word or melody for you. moment.
