Post Malone has become an indispensable guest vocalist of late. The Texas musician, who released his own album Austin last year, it appears on the two biggest LPs of the year. In May, he will appear on “Fortnight,” Taylor Swift's opening track The part of the tortured poetand now fans can hear him duet with Beyoncé on 'Levii's Jeans'.
The song, from her new album Cowboy Carter, sees Texas natives join forces to pay homage to Levi's, a denim brand made famous by cowboys. “You call me a little thing/ And I like to turn him on,” Beyoncé croons on the sultry song. “Boy, I'll let you be my Levi's/ So you can hug that ass all day long/ Come here hot little one/ Take a picture, put it on/ Oh, you wish you were my Levi's/ Way out comes your phone.”
Malone replies, “I like it when you tease me in jeans, girl, you don't need a designer/ And when that seaplane thing, girl, you the pilot.”
“Levii's Jeans” isn't Malone's first foray into country music. In November, he made his debut at the CMA Awards alongside Morgan Wallen and Hardy. The musicians performed a medley of '90s country songs by Joe Diffie, including “John Deere Green” and “Pickup Man.”
In recent years, he has also covered contemporary country songs such as Brad Paisley's “I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)” and Sturgill Simpson's “You Can Have the Crown” and classics such as “There's a” by Hank Williams Tear in My Beer' and Johnny Cash's 'Cocaine Blues' (on stage with Billy Strings in 2022).
This year, Malone will bring his country tribute to the live stage next year as one of the headliners at the Stagecoach festival in Indio, California. Stagecoach 2024, taking place April 26-28 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (home of Coachella), will feature Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen as headliners, with Malone performing his arrangements on Saturday. Day also featuring Willie Nelson, Luke Grimes and Texas headliners Sleep at the Wheel.
The singer recently did a soft, acoustic performance of “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl (featuring Swift in particular); Malone spoke to Apple Music before the show and work was discussed with Swift saying “She's so cool and so sweet and so kind and talented. He hit me up and said, “Let's do it,” and I said, “Hell yeah.” Was amazing.”
