Beyoncé has finally released a music video from Cowboy Carter — well, kind of. On Election Day Tuesday, the singer released a new visual titled “Beywatch” and set to an edit of the Cowboy Carter track “Bodyguard.” In the video, Beyoncé, dressed in a series of Pamela Anderson‘s most iconic looks, encourages everyone to go out and vote.
While dancing along to the track, Beyoncé dons a look from Anderson’s character in “Barb Wire,” sporting a black dress with a plunging neckline, knee-high boots, and long mesh gloves. There is also a quick shot of her “Barb Wire” gun firing to show the word “Vote.”
And, of course, she sported her own version of Anderson’s iconic red bathing suit — but instead of “Baywatch,” the singer’s suit red “Beywatch.”
Her third look in the video channeled Anderson’s outfit from the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, which included a giant pink fuzzy hat, white corset, and sparkly leggings.
The video ends with “Happy Beylloween,” seemingly a reference to last week’s Halloween. The final shot shows white text on a black screen, reading, “Vote.”
The music video marked the singer’s first in years. Beyoncé’s last videos were taken from her visual albums Black Is King and the Lemonade film. Her last standalone solo music video was for “Formation” in 2015.
“Beywatch” comes after Beyoncé publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris at the presidential nominee’s rally in Houston last month. “We are at the precipice of an enormous shift. I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother,” Beyoncé said on stage at the event. “A mother who cares about the world our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided, our past or present or future.”
“We’re all part of something much bigger. We must vote, and we need you,” she added. “Let’s do this. Ladies and gentlemen, give a big, loud Texas welcome to the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris.”
And though she did not perform at the rally, her song “Freedom” has also soundtracked much of the Harris-Walz ticket since this summer.
