Beyoncé kicked off Election Day by stealing some of her thunder. The superstar released her first music video in years for “Bodyguard” on Tuesday (November 5), which finds her channeling a trio of Pamela Anderson's legendary “Beylloween” looks.
The superstar from Texas showed off inspired by the actress' character in 1996 Barb Wirewhich shows her in a black dress and gloves. He even pulls out a gun that says “Vote!” message flag to encourage fans to go to the polls.
It also turned appropriately Baywatch enters Beywatch while sporting blonde hair and the iconic red one-piece swimsuit as she races in slow motion to save the country as America's Sexiest Lifeguard.
A third look mimics Anderson's memorable 1999 MTV VMAs look with a furry pink hat and dramatic leggings. But instead of the Video Music Awards, he comically renamed the show the No Visual Awards — playing with the lack of video releases. “Bodyguard” is Beyoncé's first visual since 2020 Black Is King music film.
Beyoncé publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in the presidential election during an October rally in her hometown of Houston.
“I'm not here as a celebrity,” he said on stage. “I am not here as a politician. I am here as a mother. A mother who cares, deeply, about the world my children and all our children live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world where we are not divided. Our past, present, future merge to meet us here.”
Beys continued, “We need you. Your voice has power and size. Your vote is one of our most valuable tools and we need you. Your freedom is your God-given right, your human right. Everyone says Texas! Texas is playing a pivotal role in changing the course of our future.”
“Bodyguard” lands on Bey's 2024 Cowboy Carter album, and the Raphael Saadiq-produced track reached No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.
