Beyoncé got her fans in the country spirit on Tuesday (March 12) when she revealed that her upcoming country album will be titled Cowboy Carter.
The superstar's label Parkwood Entertainment announced the news via social media, two weeks before the album was scheduled to be released on March 29. The post also showed an image of an empty saddle with a red, white and blue sheet draped with the album's name stitched onto it. However, pre-ordering the limited edition drops for the album at Bey's Websiteindicates that the image is not the final cover.
The second act of the 2022 album Renaissance she already has two singles, “16 Carriages” and her Hot 100 topper, “Texas Hold 'Em.” The latter has spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, which earlier became Bey's historic first No. 1 on the chart. Prior to his rise, no black woman, or woman known to be bisexual, had led the list.
After the album title was revealed, fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts – which ranged from excitement for the new era of country to confusion about the seemingly staple name after an album title such as Renaissance. Check out some of the BeyHive's reactions below.
