While Dua previously led the charge with her brand-new release Training Season, Beyoncé’s TEXAS HOLD ‘EM now bolts ahead and tracks for Number 1; though there’s still all to play for.
Fewer than 1500 UK chart units currently separate Dua’s Houdini follow-up from Bey’s first taste of her upcoming RENAISSANCE Act II album, set for release on March 29.
TEXAS HOLD ‘EM, which was released alongside 16 CARRIAGES following its premiere in a Verizon Super Bowl LVIII advertisement, debuted at Number 9 on last week’s Official Singles Chart. In doing so, it became the pop icon’s 22nd solo UK Top 10 hit.
Beyoncé boasts a further 12 Top 10 singles as a member of Destiny’s Child, including chart-toppers Independent Women, Pt. 1 (2000) and Survivor (2001).
Should Training Season hold on to its predicted Number 2 position, it’ll become Dua’s 15th UK Top 10 single to date. Her last release, 2023’s Houdini, debuted and peaked at Number 2, while Jack Harlow’s Lovin On Me took the top spot.
Elsewhere in today’s update, Washington-born breakout star Benson Boone looks set to stay strong at Number 3 with Beautiful Things, while Teddy Swims’ Lose Control also looks to hold on to last week’s Number 4 placing.
Meanwhile, Noah Kahan’s Stick Season could fall four to Number 5, following its seven-week stint at the summit.
