Kakao Entertainment aims to accelerate K-pop's global expansion thanks to a new partnership with Advertising sign and Billboard Korea.
The company announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with the American music and entertainment magazine to strengthen the influence of K-pop worldwide. Joseph Chang, Co-CEO of Kakao Entertainment, met with Billboard President Mike Van and Billboard Korea CEO & Publisher Yuna Kim at the Kakao Entertainment Seoul offices on Wednesday to discuss in-depth how to advance the partnership between all parties as global partners. This is the first time Advertising sign and Billboard Korea have created an official collaboration for K-pop.
“Kakao Entertainment is a key player working with a rich group of partners in the K-pop industry and has significant expertise in content development, production and marketing,” Van and Kim said in a joint statement. “We expect the collaboration between our two companies to introduce music fans to the multifaceted appeal of K-pop.”
This partnership brings together Kakao Entertainment, Advertising sign and Billboard Korea to build a comprehensive cooperation system to strengthen the presence and influence of K-pop around the world. The newly formed alliance is expected to open a new chapter in global markets for K-pop, which has experienced huge popularity and strengthened its position in the music industry.
Kakao Entertainment, Advertising sign and Billboard Korea they will work together to present the full range of Korean music and a variety of related content to fans worldwide and push for an extensive marketing and promotions campaign to support the global activities of K-pop artists. They will also unveil a new business model in relation to K-pop, marrying Kakao Entertainment's expertise in designing, producing and marketing intellectual property music with Advertising signRich assets and global media influence. Advertising sign plans to leverage this move to ensure that Billboard Koreascheduled for release in June, will successfully establish and expand his musical portfolio for a much greater influence in the global music industry.

The collaboration comes before its launch Billboard Koreaher first print issue, which is perfectly suited to the K-pop genre that is reaching new heights. South Korean compositions accounted for five of the top 10 albums on the 2023 IFPI World Albums Chart, including the number one spot for SEVENTEEN FML, representing the best all-chart performance for the genre. Indeed, an unprecedented 19 of the chart's top 20 titles were K-pop.
