The current 20-spot Songs of the Summer tally tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart based on streaming, airplay and sales from Memorial Day to Labor Day (this year includes charts from June 8 to September 7). At the end of the season, the top song of the summer will be revealed.
Post Malone's “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, ranks No. 1 in the season's initial Songs of the Summer survey. The track topped the Hot 100 for a third week, as well as the Hot Country Songs for a third straight. Only one song has earned the season-ending No. 1 spot on the Songs of Summer chart after leading the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs — Wallen's “Last Night” last year.
Kendrick Lamar's “Not Like Us” is No. 2 on the inaugural Songs of the Summer 2024 chart, followed in the top five by Tommy Richman's “Million Dollar Baby” (No. 3), “A Bar Song (Tipsy )” by Shaboozey. (No. 4) and “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter (No. 5).
Before 2023's “Last Night,” Harry Styles' “As It Was” was the season-ending No. 1 hit on the 2022 Songs of the Summer chart, after BTS's “Butter” finished on top in 2021 and DaBaby's “Rockstar,” featuring Roddy Ricch, wrapped at the top in 2020.
