It’s a craving, not a crush — but either way, Billie Eilish tends to spiral whenever she develops feelings for someone.
On the latest episode of Chicken Shop Date posted Friday (July 12), the 22-year-old pop star opened up to host Amelia Dimoldenberg about her tendency to fly a little off the handle when a new love interest enters her life. “I become insane when I have a crush,” Eilish said. “I get absolutely insane. When I was growing up, no one I had a crush on ever had a crush on me back — that I know of. It’s very demoralizing. It’s sad.”
For the record, it doesn’t seem like the “Bad Guy” singer — who’s been linked to Jesse Rutherford and Matthew Vorce in the past — has any trouble finding requited love now. When Dimoldenberg asked whether Eilish still has the same problem today, the latter merely gave a suggestive smirk.
“All I do is crush on people,” she shared. “It’s all I do. When I don’t have a crush, life feels so empty.”
The interview comes about two months after the nine-time Grammy winner dropped her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. All 10 of its tracks charted on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release, including flagship single “Lunch,” which reached No. 5.
On one of the album’s fan-favorites, “The Greatest,” Eilish laments how she “just wanted passion” from her ex, a topic that also came up in her Chicken Shop Date interview. “What turns me on? I don’t know, passion, dude,” she told Dimoldenberg. “It’s all about passion.”
Eilish, who has her own fragrance line, also said that a person’s scent is important to her. “[It’s] kinda No. 1,” she said. “I can get around it, but I’m definitely, like, that’s the first thing I notice. I have a very strong nose, so if somebody smells good, I like them more.”
