I got three tickets for 20 bucks, so I'm here to win them.”

With “Violet” back in the press, Love recently said NME That the song was “not just” about her relationship with Corgan: “It's about sitting on the fire escape of her apartment, drinking cheap wine and popping a Vicodin (oh, to be young!) while the Chicago sun goes down.” , leaving behind a jeweled amethyst sky.”
Corgan addressed his statement in the video, captioning a screenshot of the article with the following: “You forgot to mention that I wrote one of the heartbreaking verses in it. But I will always love this song. I love you Corte.”
“Violet” was the opening song on Hole's second album, Live through this (pick up a vinyl copy here), and was written by Love during the band's tour prior to their 1991 debut album, Nice inside.
In 1995, Love said the song was “about a jerk, I put a spell on him and now he's losing his hair” during an appearance on Later… with Jools Holland.
