Almost three years after her solo debut with a pair of singles, it looks like BLACKPINK's LISA is finally back with new music.
On Thursday (June 6), the K-pop star posted a minimalist teaser on Instagram Stories. “Coming soon: LISA,” it read simply.
The graphic also contained links to pre-save an anonymous project to Spotify and Apple Music. Her official webpage also boasts about the teaser, as does LLOUD's management page.
The Thai rapper also marked the beginning of her new era by posting a video on TikTok. In the clip – which she paired with a glossy synth beat titled “Coming Soon” on the platform – she poses inconspicuously in a cute outfit.
LISA first released her own music in September 2021, releasing the singles “Lalisa” and “Money” through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. The latter track became the first solo K-pop hit to surpass one billion streams on Spotify in 2023, and its music video recently became the singer's first to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Also in 2021, LISA teamed up with DJ Snake Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion on a single titled “SG”. Last year, he appeared on a track with BIGBANG's Taeyang titled “Shoong!”
LISA and her BLACKPINK bandmates JENNIE, JISOO and ROSÉ are currently on a hiatus from full-band activities following the release of their Billboard 200 topping album Born Pink in 2022. In April, the former signed with RCA Records ahead of her upcoming solo efforts, signing a deal that will allow her to retain ownership of her master recordings.
“I'm very excited to join the RCA family and I'm sure they're the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career,” LISA said in a statement at the time. “We can't wait to show the world everything we have in store.”
