Here we have a brand new collaborative EP between Detroit, Michigan emcee Blaze Ya Dead Homie & Louisville, Kentucky emcee Bukshot. One of which broke out into the underground by signing to Insane Clown Posse's own down-the-streets label Psychopathic Records for their 2000 self-titled and debut full-length1 Less G n da Hoodwith the other singled out for founding Mobstyle Music. Both have worked together many times in the past and are taking it further Blockwork Morgue.
After the introduction of “Night at the Morgue”, the first song “Blockwork” produced by MIKE SUMMERS aka Seven starts with an off-the-wall heater explaining how shit works around the block, while the “Panicking” with Jamie Madrox searches below. the hardcore rabbit hole has everyone against them in a state of panic. “Do It” mixes boom-bum and rap rock talking about how they hit the streets pushing weight, while the gruesome “War Story” addresses the people who want beef with them.
“JAFUD (Just Another Fucked Up Day)” featuring Monoxide on the remix shows some rap rock influences as the official EP closer talks about another stale day and the remix of “Take an L” featuring Drive-By away from Helter Skelter: The Complicces II features a new verse from Boondox that can be accompanied by the original highlight from that album previously mentioned in Buk's discography.
Buk has been teasing this EP for almost a few months now and I'm glad he finally decided to release it after a phat opening set in the basement of St. Andrew's Hall The Shelter for the House of Krazees reunion LP release party 31 last night. Seven's production doesn't miss a beat and both MCs turn up their chemistry as 2 unique worlds collide in the underground Satanic scene to kick off Devil's Night 2024.
