“When we were sitting in the studio and I heard her voice coming through, I was just kind of shocked and in awe of her,” Sabrina Teitelbaum said of Alicia Bognanno
Blondshell has dropped a video for “Docket,” her recent collaboration with Bully.
Recorded live at her producer Yves Rothman’s new studio, Saturn Sound in Los Angeles, the clip features Sabrina Teitelbaum with her band. Bully’s Alicia Bognanno joins on the second verse, and the two singers stand next to each other toward the end, bringing the song home.
Teitelbaum originally released the track in late March. “I had space on this song for another person and I kept hearing Bully’s voice on it,” she said at the time. “I’m a huge fan of hers and when I was touring last summer I couldn’t stop listening to her album. Honestly when we were sitting in the studio and I heard her voice coming through, I was just kind of shocked and in awe of her. I’m really happy she said yes to making the song with me.”
“Docket” was recently featured on Rolling Stone‘s list of the Best Songs of 2024 So Far. Teitelbaum and Bognanno released albums last year — Blondshell’s self-titled debut and Bully’s Lucky for You — that were included on our list of the Best Indie-Rock Albums of 2023.
Teitelbaum just appeared on Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense; she recently spoke to Rolling Stone about being apart of the project. She’s currently on tour, recently hitting Governors Ball in New York. Next up: Glastonbury 2024.
