Hoops star Jayson Tatum topped the basketball world when he captured his first NBA championship as the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 on Monday night (June 17).
After the champagne and cigars dried up at TD Garden following the Game Five win, the afterparty continued at a nearby Boston nightclub, where Tatum recited a line from a classic Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) speech.

“I know everybody would be wondering what would happen if we didn't win,” Tatum began quoting Ye before delivering the punch line. “I guess we'll never know!” The tribute to the 24-time Grammy winner – who has since faced a hate speech conviction – drew applause from the Celtic crowd packed into the club.

Brown ended up beating Tatum to win the NBA Finals MVP title, but JT carried the Celtics with 31 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds to lead the team to victory.
