Boygenius reportedly announced a hiatus during their “last show” on Thursday night.
According to social media reports, the indie supergroup have announced that they will be taking an indefinite break.
The trio, made up of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, announced the news during an acoustic performance in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to an account on X/Twitter, which live-tweeted the concert.
“We’re going away for the foreseeable future,” the group reportedly announced during the show.
“This is our last show, and we’re feeling it,” Lucy said later on in the concert, according to @boygeniussource.
The account added that Lucy later announced, “This is the last song,” before Julien clarified, “Not ever.”
The indie group have not yet commented on the reported hiatus.
Boygenius are nominated for six Grammy awards this year, including Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album for The Record. They are also nominated for Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song for their track Not Strong Enough. The music ceremony takes place in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The singer-songwriter group debuted in 2018 with their self-titled EP, and returned in 2023 after a hiatus with their debut studio album The Record.
