boygenius recently stopped by BBC Radio 1 where the supergroup of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker performed a gorgeous cover of Shania Twain's smash hit “You're Still the One”. Check it out below.
Each member of the trio took their turn on lead vocals wearing matching black jackets. Bridgers began their cover on the intro and first verse before joining her bandmates on the chorus. Dacus then took over to sing the second verse and pre-chorus, with the group coming together again for the chorus. Not to be outdone, Baker took the lead in the final spin of the dance.
Earlier this year, boygenius released their first full-length, the record. One of ConsistencyBest Albums of 2023 helped the act earn seven Grammy nominations, including album of the year and record of the year for “Not Strong Enough.” Unfortunately, we missed hearing from Dave Grohl on the project because he “slept through” their scheduled meeting.
Meanwhile, Twain is set to begin a Las Vegas residency in May 2024 following the release of her latest album. My Queen, last February. Get your tickets here.
