Britney Spears was in a reflective mood on Thursday (April 4) when she posted a throwback video with ex-husband Sam Asghari. In the clip, the former couple work their way through some sexy choreography, with Spears – wearing tiny white shorts and a bra – spinning in circles and jumping around the middle of a ripped shirtless Asghari.
According TMZ, the post, which has since been deleted, also featured a lengthy commentary on Spears' current state of mind and her feelings about the video, her sensitive nature, and the ups and downs of love. “The time it took me… it's weird because there are always weird turns to relationships with your friends, family or loved ones in [rollercoaster emoji] for any trip you take with someone!!!” the caption began.
“Looking back is hard sometimes, but it's honestly important… I'm honestly very sensitive most of the time [zipped mouth emoji]she continued. “I talk about my past sometimes because I want to protect myself from making the same mistakes as before!!! What I usually do if I'm going through too much is shut down, but sometimes I lose the ability to understand what's going on or how I feel at all!!! Sometimes I'm afraid to feel anything because I know I'm very sensitive.”
Spears, 42, and Asghari, 30, dated for seven years before splitting in August 2023 after 14 months of marriage, when the personal trainer/actor filed for divorce.
“It felt a lot easier when I was younger because I feel like I trust people more and I hadn't experienced the harshness of the world yet,” Spears added. “I miss being vulnerable and open with people. If you know me, you know how I love… I love too much it's a shame and I will love you for life!!! This is a feature I want to try and maintain, but it's not all peaches and cream as they say. Someone I really loved kept telling me I'm not looking at that face of yours. My hopes in sharing is that by remembering that I can try and figure out why I never feel good enough and know that it's okay to get into my brain and try to figure it out.”
Spears, who earlier this year said she would “never return to the music business,” has kept a relatively low profile since the release of her memoir in October. The Woman in Me.
