BTS' Jin officially made his solo debut on Tonight's show starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “Running Wild,” the title track from their newly released album, Happy. The vocalist also sat down to chat about his busy 2024 and even took the time to generously teach Jimmy how to perform one of his dance challenges. Watch both segments below.
Jin opted for a green fringed jacket for the live performance of the rock-inspired track, and then spoke to Coldplay and Chris Martin for personal inspiration when it came time to join Jimmy for the interview. The chat also delved into Jin's bandmates welcoming him to civilian life during the completion of his military service this summer, where BTS leader RM marked the occasion with a spontaneous saxophone performance.
“At that time, it was very hectic, because it was immediately after my discharge,” Jin explained, looking at the photo of the meeting. “I wasn't exactly sure what RM was doing, but he was playing something for me.”
“You don't know what he was doing?” Jimmy pressed.
“I didn't even know he was there,” Jin joked.
Jin and Jimmy later recalled the origins of the nickname “Worldwide Handsome”, as well as Jin's love of fishing. When their addictive song “Super Tuna” became the center of attention, the two spent some time trying out the choreography together.
Tune in to the latest episode of bts on Consequence Podcast Network to learn more about Jin's recent activities. On December 6, Jin’s bandmate V will also share a reimagined version of “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby himself.
