BTS's Jin has some news that's sure to give fans an endorphin rush – his debut solo album, Happycoming soon
As announced on Monday (October 14), the 31-year-old K-pop star will deliver his first full set of songs as a soloist on November 15. Inspired by his “journey to discover true happiness,” the project will feature six tracks, according to a release from BigHit.
“Gene reveals his honest thoughts and feelings about what happiness means to him, in hopes that those who listen to the album will also find joy,” the release continues. “Happy it's an authentic, moving gesture that invites listeners to follow him on a journey to find happiness, offering them a sense of strength and comfort in their everyday lives.”
The news comes about four months after Jin became the first of his BTS bandmates to complete his mandatory military service in South Korea, which he celebrated at the time by hugging 1,000 fans. The performer also earned a place in the history books over the summer when he participated as a torchbearer in the 2024 Olympic Games relay, becoming one of only a handful of musicians ever to hold the honor.
Happy will follow a string of solo singles that Jin has released over the years, including 2019's “Tonight,” 2020's “Abyss,” and 2022's “The Astronaut.” Three days before his album announcement, singer has officially released the full version of his song 'Super Tuna'.
The new LP will make Jin the latest BTS member to release a solo album, following previous projects by Jung Kook, Jimin, V, SUGA, RM and J-Hope. Full band activities are currently on hiatus as the remaining members complete their military service, with BTS expected to return in 2025.
