Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, has defended the couple’s plan to pursue surrogacy.
Responding to comments on Facebook that Bunnie was choosing surrogacy over pregnancy in order to avoid changes to her body, the singer’s wife replied, “This is so gross.”
“Please watch how you say things to ppl on the internet. You aren’t in their shoes, you haven’t fought their battles & you kno nothing of the journey we’ve been thru.”
In fact, 40-something Bunnie revealed she’s scared to get pregnant due to her age and medical history.
“I’m scared because I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages AND at my age I do not want to go thru that again,” she states.
In a clip she shared from the newest episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie also discussed her concerns about how a pregnancy would affect her mental health, stressing that it took her years to control her anxiety and depression.
Bunnie met Jelly Roll in 2015 when she attended one of his gigs in Las Vegas.
She and the I Am Not OK singer started the long process of IVF back in 2019, but didn’t publicly discuss their journey until last month.
She acknowledged that the fan response has been overwhelmingly supportive, but the negative comments have been hurtful.
“From here on out, I want to keep it private,” she says. “I just want something that’s ours. So the next time you guys hear me talk about IVF or the babies is gonna be when the babies are born.”
Bunnie further explained, “I think we wanna have twin boys. I’m not sure. We could have one, we could have two. I’m not sure what we’re gonna do yet.”
