Cage the Elephant has released a new song titled “Good Time,” the latest single from their upcoming album. neon pill.
Musically, “Good Time” is reminiscent of Cage the Elephant classics from the mid-2010s, with punchy drums driving harmonic layers of guitar chords and fuzzy keyboard lines. Lyrically, along with the other tracks on neon pillspeaks to the phase of life that the members of Cage the Elephant find themselves in, juxtaposing tense verses with the soaring chorus of “We all had a good time.”

Speaking about their new phase of songwriting, the band's Matthew Shultz said: “With this album, after having been through so much, life had almost forced us to become more and more comfortable with ourselves. We weren't looking much beyond the pure experience of self-expression, and at the same time, we weren't necessarily settling either. “Good Time” follows the previous one neon pill singles “Out Loud” and the title track “Neon Pill.” The full album will be released on May 17 via RCA Records and will arrive on digital, CD and vinyl formats. Pre-orders are ongoing.
