While wearing Luka Doncic's Dallas Mavericks jersey, Cameron kicked off the latest episode of It is what it is podcast with fast freestyle. Over Black Rob'sWow,” the Harlem rapper addressed a new Adidas ad for Anthony Edwards' signature sneaker, the AE 1.
Adidas Basketball released the ad for the Anthony Edwards AE 1 sneaker on their social media accounts on Friday (May 31):
The commercial features the Minnesota Timberwolves guard documenting the amount of hate he's received since entering the NBA in 2020. One of those receipts belonged to Cameron, who said, “To me, he's an all-star, but no superstar, though.” It is what it is. Edwards jumps back and says, “F-K, man,” to which his boyfriend, who's off to the side reading the receipts, replies, “It's what it's not.”
Naturally, Cam had to answer. But instead of addressing it as “Cam the Sports Pundit,” he decided to respond to Ant-Man as “Cam the Rap Legend.” Before arriving at Edwards, Cam gave his CNN interview to correspondent Abby Phillips, during which she asked him about Diddy and the charges he faces. “I beat the FBI, what do I care about CNN?” He goes, and “Apologise, Abby, for what I may have said/ But the play was already read/ Take a black woman and a black man to kill a black man who's already dead.”
Killa then targeted the NBA player. “But you ain't wrong Ant-Man?/Give him his props, homie got love from me/New ad, you got no love for me?/He took a jumpshot and said 'Fk, man,'” he rapped. He continued so with “Kyrie Irving with this s–t, don't get cross up / Shooters, sorry just my thoughts / Luca, I'll send you home on your home turf” as he reports Wolves' embarrassing Game 6 loss from Dallas at home.
He then joins Adidas, taking responsibility for advertising at the sportswear company. “Give them an Uber, I don't know what you were thinking/ Adidas, I blame you, it's your fault,” he raps defiantly. “You think you got the b-ball version of Kanye? Come on, stop it, duke/You're just passing by/He's doing something you don't like, you'll drop him too.'
Adidas has yet to respond on social media or Advertising signhis request for comment.
