Cam'ron can turn any interview into a viral moment — just ask Bill O'Reilly. The Dipset rapper appeared on CNN Monday night (May 20), but claimed he didn't know he was booked to talk about Sean “Diddy” Combs and the assault allegations against him.
The interview quickly took a left turn when host Abby Phillips asked Cam about Diddy's recognition of the “I'll Be Missing You” artist's video of him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016, which he received on CNN last week.
“I don't know him like that. What do you mean I recognized him? I saw him,” Cam said. “What do you mean my experiences? I saw him and thought it was gross, I didn't zoom in to see if it was really him or anything, but he admitted it was him, so yeah, it was him.”
Phillip's facial expression seemingly gave away that she knew the interview was headed down a disastrous path, but she continued to try to get Cam'ron's thoughts on Diddy's apology video, in which Combs called his actions “inexcusable.” .
“The apology isn't for me, it's for Cassie,” Cam replied. “It does nothing for me. What I think about it doesn't matter. You should ask Cassie if she accepts the apology. I said what I said.”
While CNN was replaying a heartfelt clip from It is what it is regarding Cam'ron asking Ma$e why she had him sign with The Notorious BIG instead of Diddy, Cam took the opportunity to promote the Pink Horse Power libido supplement.
He took back a cup of the intimacy juice. “Sorry, I'm going to take some cheeks after that Horse Power joint,” Cam said, admitting he was going to see a woman after the interview.
After a last-ditch effort to capture information and give Cam a chance to talk to Diddy, the “Oh Boy” rapper asked and asked who booked him to appear on CNN before wrapping up the three-minute segment.
“Who is the talent agent for this audience? Do you think I sit and watch what Diddy did? I didn't know this was a Diddy audience you were inviting me to,” he replied. “Who booked me for this audience?”
Cam'ron addressed the viral interview on Tuesday's episode It is what it is and explained that he didn't appreciate how CNN didn't ask him about any of the positive things he does in the community and insisted on grabbing the abuse allegations made against Diddy.
“I just felt like you tried to use me, pause,” he said. “I don't know why they don't watch 60 minutes. Don't they see Bill O'Reilly? That's what I do in their joints… You call me on CNN for the bulls, I'll give you the bulls.”
