In recent days P. Diddy has been the subject of much scorn and derision after a video of him grossly abusing Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway. While many celebrities took to social media to criticize Diddy for his actions, Cam'ron doesn't seem to want to address the issue too directly.
In an interview with Abby Phillips on CNN NewsNight, the Harlem rapper was asked about his thoughts on the video of Diddy laying hands on Cassie and was seemingly bothered by the question and refrained from criticizing his fellow Harlem. After being asked by Phillip if he “recognized that Sean Combs,” a seemingly reluctant Cam'ron responded by saying he didn't support the things Diddy's been accused of calling the video “extreme” and saying Diddy wasn't “necessarily a friend.”
When Phillip once again asked if she recognized this side of Diddy, Cam'ron asked her, “What do you mean I recognized him? I saw him. What do you mean my experiences? I saw it and thought it was disgusting. I didn't zoom in and see if it was really him, but he admitted it was him.”
Things got a little weirder when asked about his thoughts on Diddy's much-hyped “apology” video. Cam didn't want to weigh in on how he felt about it saying “The apology isn't for me to decide, it's for Cassie. It does nothing for me. You should ask Cassie if she accepts the apology. What I think about it doesn't matter.”
And if you thought things couldn't get any weirder than this, it did. After being asked about Diddy's reputation for pampering his artists, Cam downed a shot of his PinkHorsePower sex drink before declaring that he was “going to have some cheek” after the interview.
In an attempt to keep it professional, Phillip asked Cam if the music industry has been protecting Diddy all these years only for a visibly annoyed Cam to ask someone on his side “Who booked me for this audience?” before the interview was cut short as Cam definitely didn't want to talk about the Diddy thing in front of America.
Taking to X to talk about his appearance, Cam'ron said he was annoyed that he wasn't invited to talk about the success of his show with Ma$e and the “positive things we're doing in our community.” Once again saying he doesn't support anything Diddy is accused of, Cam says “that's what I do in these joints” when it comes to cable news interviews.
