Cardi B's got some biological family lighting up the music industry. Bardi supported GloRilla's claims that they are actually cousins during an interview Big Boy's Neighborhood on Friday (March 15).
The Bronx bombshell was initially hesitant to explain how her family tree ties into Tennessee, but eventually gave in and explained how she's related to her “Tomorrow 2” co-star — who's from Memphis — through her grandfather.
“That's my cousin,” Cardi replied in response to Big Boy's doubts. “A lot of people don't know that. My grandfather, he used to – I don't like to put my family business out there – push the weight or whatever. He lived in Tennessee.”
“He didn't really tell my grandmother that he was dealing with someone there. She had a kid out there, and that's GloRilla's dad. So that's what makes us connected.”
Cardi felt a deeper connection with GloRilla when she met the Memphis rapper and they looked further to find out they were related.
“I asked her, 'Do you just feel like we look too much alike?' You get my jokes and everything,” Cardi added. “He says, 'Yes. There is something funny. Something really strange.' Just like that [started asking].”
The family's claims come from an October 2022 interview when GloRilla was admitted The neighborhood and claimed she was Cardi's cousin, which Big Boy wasn't involved with at the time.
