Cardi B's new album season seems to be upon us (finally!).
The rapper took to her Instagram Stories to re-share a fan's post teasing a snippet of an upcoming song. “I ain't even got dressed / Any L I got come after YS / Oh man oh man oh man,” she declares on the track. Check out our Instagram Story before it's gone here.
The teasers come just a week after Cardi's estranged husband Offset took to his Stories to encourage the 'Bodak Yellow' rapper to drop her new music. In the video, the Migos star can be seen shaking his head and loving the music with a satisfied stink face, and since the video had no sound, viewers were left to their imaginations to interpret the caption. “Stop being creepy and drop the album,” it read, along with “s–t going crazy [fire emoji],” He wrote.
A new Cardi album would be her first since 2018 Breach of privacy. The album spawned two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, the diamond-certified “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It.” It also won the Grammy for Best Rap album Breach of privacybeating Pusha T, Mac Miller, Travis Scott and Nipsey Hussle.
Back in August, Cardi promised she wasn't going to release any more collaborations until she dropped her next solo single. Of course, her hit collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, 'Bongos', dropped a month later, but Cardi insisted she's focused on her sophomore project.
“I will be releasing my next solo single. Right now, I'm working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it will definitely be released,” he said at the time. “Everybody keeps telling me I have to put the record out now. They did when I released “WAP” [with Megan Thee Stallion] and when I released “Up” but I always told them I'm not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it will be released very soon.”
