Carín León, fresh from announcing his upcoming tour and news that he'll be opening for one of the Rolling Stones' shows, performed a sparse but thoroughly satisfying rendition of his 2024 Latin American single “Cuando La Vida Sea Trago.” Music Awards on Thursday night (April 25).
León, wearing his cowboy hat, started the song from a sofa, singing intently and accompanied by his band, with the tuba as the main instrument.
There were no dancers in sight, but there was no need. The real stars of this performance were León's impassioned vocals and eloquent lyrics: “Yo soy el dolor de cabeza de las suegras de la familia soy la oveja negra/ de chamaco siempre di problemas y preoccupation (I'm a mother-in-law headache, the black sheep of the family as a child, I was always in trouble and worried).
“Cuando la vida sea trago” was written by León with hit producers Edgar Barrera and Keityn and Luis Miguel Castellanos.
The 2024 Latin American Music Awards took place Thursday, April 25, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Univision.
Hitmakers Feid and Peso Pluma lead this year's nominations list with 12 nods each. The Colombian singer and Mexican star, who are nominated for the coveted artist of the year and album of the year awards, are followed by top contenders Bad Bunny (11), Grupo Frontera (11), Karol G (9), Shakira (9 ), Eslabon Armado (8) and Fuerza Regida (8).
tickets for León's Boca Chueca tour 2024 will go on sale April 30th with a general sale May 1st. The tour kicks off on July 22nd in Paso Robles, California.
