Amid fan speculation about his absence from the Ultra Music Festival 2024 lineup, Carl Cox has issued a statement to set the record straight.
Cox is embedded in the history of Ultra, one of the largest and most popular electronic dance music festivals in the world. He has performed a staggering 19 times since his 1999 debut, including a spectacular performance at “Hybrid Live” at last year's festival.
Cox took to social media today to shed some light on this year's vacancy, citing his desire to perform at several international events. The techno legend, whose performances at the stunning RESISTANCE megastructure are considered one of Ultra's biggest draws, also revealed that he has been confirmed to headline the 2025 edition of the festival.
“While I have loved playing at Ultra Miami 19 times in the last 22 years, I will not be attending this time because I will take advantage of the opportunity to play in some incredible events around the world,” Cox said. “But don't worry: I'm preparing something very special for my headlining performance at Ultra Music Festival 2025, where we'll be celebrating its huge 25th anniversary!”
Although they won't see Cox lighting up the RESISTANCE megastructure this year, fans will be able to see him at Miami's M2 club less than two months later on May 3, he added.
