“This is the most unapologetically 'Carly' song I've ever written,” the Kentucky native says of the new single
Carly Pearce has shared her new single 'Hummingbird', the title track from her upcoming album, due out this summer.
“When I wrote this song, I knew I wanted it to be the title of the album,” Pearce said in a statement. “This song plays to my bluegrass roots but also lyrically tells the story of my journey to find love. This is the most mindless 'Carly' song I've ever written.”
hummingbirdPearce's continuation until 2021 29: Written in stonewas co-produced by the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter – her first self-produced album – with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, her collaborators on her latest LP.
“The past few years have been a time of loss and growth, healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowledge that I have lived and will always be unmoved by it,” Pearce added on social media. “These 14 songs embody my belief that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love for country music.”
In addition to “Hummingbird,” the album — out June 14 and available for pre-order now — also boasts Pearce's Grammy-nominated single “We Don't Fight Anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton.
“When you listen to this album — wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you how strong you are and what you're truly worth,” added Pearce. “That we can all find the 'hummingbird' in everything we go through.”
