Gamers tend to agree with Netflix's Castlevania The animated series is arguably the best video game adaptation since 1995 Mortal Kombat. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Netflix is continuing to keep the franchise going, as fans can't seem to get enough of the animated dead.
Last Monday (September 16), Netflix released its first teaser trailer for its second season Castlevania: Nocturnal which promises more bloody vampiric violence and according to Deadlinewill continue 300 years after the events of the original series.
Per Deadline:
Season 1 took place in France in 1792 — the height of the French Revolution. Here's the synopsis: In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to “eat the sun” and unleash an army of vampires and creatures of the night to crush the revolution and to enslave humanity. Annette, a witch from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, the last scion of a long-standing family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.
In Season 2, alongside the legendary Alucard, Richter Belmont and his band of vampire hunters find themselves in a desperate race against time. Already seemingly invincible, Erzsebet Báthory, the Vampire Messiah, seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror.
Too bad there is no way Castlevania could ever cross paths with Blade or Vampire Hunter D or something like that. I'm just saying.
Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix this coming January 2025. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments section below.
