Chappell Roan has parted ways with its management team, sources confirm Bulletin board.
The news comes after the star scored her first string of Grammy nominations, including all of the Big Four categories. Her debut album in 2023, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princesswill compete for album of the year while her hit “Good Luck, Babe!” it's for record and song of the year. Roan is also nominated for Best New Artist.
Roan's plaudits were mostly stopped by a congratulatory post shared by the Instagram account for State Of the Art — the label Roan was previously signed to, with Nick Bobetsky as her manager. Bobetzky met Roan in 2018 and as he previously said Bulletin board“Her enormous talent was immediately apparent.”
Bobetzky had a front row seat as Roan's career took off and hit milestones, including her first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 (“Good Luck, Babe!”), a top 5 entry Midwest Princess on the Billboard 200 and record-breaking festival crowds, among other achievements.
Most recently – in addition to her Grammy nominations – Roan made her debut as a guest on the track Saturday Night Livewhere he performed an unreleased pop song called 'The Giver'. At the Governors Ball festival held this summer in New York, he performed another unreleased track titled 'Subway'. In an August interview with Music Business WorldwideBobetsky shared that the artist is “busy writing” new material.
Roan's rise has also had its share of disappointments. The artist has spoken publicly about the toxicity of ghosts and the “predatory” interactions she has had. In a note she posted on Instagram in August, she wrote: “When I'm on stage, when I'm performing, when I'm in drag, when I'm at a work event, when I'm doing press… I'm at work. Any other circumstance, I'm not in a work situation…I don't agree with the idea that I owe a reciprocal exchange of energy, time, or attention to people I don't know, don't trust, or who annoy me — just because they express admiration.”
She captioned it: “I'm not afraid of the consequences of demanding respect. Just to let you know, every woman feels or has felt similar to what I am experiencing. This is not a new situation. If you see me as a– or ungrateful or my whole statement upsets you, baby, you are… you need to look inside and ask yourself “wait why am I so upset about this? Why is a girl expressing her fears and limits so infuriating?' That's all.”
