Chappell Roan is just as much of a fan of Sabrina Carpenter as everyone else!
In a recent live stream, the “Red Wine Supernova” singer shared her favorite songs from Carpenter's Short n' Sweet albums, including “Taste” and “Juno.”
“I love her,” Roan said of Carpenter. “I absolutely love her — all of her work is so thoughtful and so genuine. I just really love it. He does a great job.”
Carpenter previously showed affection for Roan by covering her hit, “Good Luck, Babe!”, for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge in June. She also talked about her friendship with her label Island Records Rolling Stonesaying that Roan's songs are on a “loopty loop” and that the two are friends off stage. “I've become as obsessed with her as anyone,” he said. “It's so weird when you're hanging out as two young women as opposed to thinking about when she goes on stage and it's this person and when I go on stage.”
Both pop singers had an exciting year. Carpenter scored a pair of chart toppers on the Billboard Global 200 earlier this summer, as “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” reached Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. Both songs appear on her just-released sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet. Meanwhile, on the Billboard Hot 100, the two tracks occupy Nos. 2 and 3, with Roan's “Good Luck Babe” climbing to No. 21, followed by “Red Wine Supernova” and “Hot to Go! ” at Nos. 67 & 68, respectively. Roan's debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess it also earned the highest charting week on the Billboard 200, entering the chart's top 10 nine months after its initial release.
