After her recent DJ set at Boiler Room, Charli XCX stated that she was “coming from the clubs.” Now, we're getting another taste of her full-fledged foray into dance music after she released a new single produced by one of the genre's most influential producers.
Before the release of their sixth studio album. Golf clubThe British pop star, who was recently honored with the ASCAP Global Impact Award, has joined forces with French electronic music icon Gesaffelstein for “B2b.”
Starting with an acid-inspired bassline, it establishes a steady beat before Charli XCX jumps in with a characteristically catchy hook that will stay in your head long after it's over. While the production is minimal in nature, you can certainly hear the sounds of Gesaffelstein, who his fans affectionately call the “dark prince of techno,” blending seamlessly with Charli's infectious pop stylings.
“B2b” follows “Club classics” and “Von dutch” as the third single Golf club, which is scheduled for release on June 7. Meanwhile, Gesaffelstein last week released her first album in almost five years, the impressive SPECTRUM. She will now return to Indio later this month to perform at Coachella 2024.
