Charli XCXxc's Brat it eventually topped the Official UK Albums Chart, four months after its initial release.
The release of the remix album Brat and it's totally different but still Bratwhich featured stars from Ariana Grande, The 1975, Julian Casablancas of the Strokes and more, gave the original record a timely boost to help it land at the top. It faced stiff competition in June, when the original was beaten to No. 1 by Taylor Swift's Department of Tormented Poets.
This is Charli's second UK No.1 album since 2022 Conflict. The record is also named the best-selling album on vinyl and the LP was the most bought in independent record stores this week. He already had a No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart this summer with his remix of “Guess,” featuring Billie Eilish.
Former Housemartins singer Paul Heaton is at No.2 with The Strong Enough. Heaton had a string of No.1 albums in the 1990s with his band The Beautiful South and two more chart-toppers with fellow Beautiful South singer Jacqui Abbott in 2020 and 2022.
Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet continues to hold British audiences as her album sits at No.3, while Coldplay's Music of the Moon and of Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess complete the five.
Elsewhere in the top 10, there are appearances from James Blunt following the reissue of his 2004 album, Back to Bedlamwhich reached No. 7. Following a fan vote, the singer had promised to legally change his name to Blunty McBluntface if his album went to No.1. Back to Bedlam It initially spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at No.1 and is one of the best-selling albums in British music history.
