Chase & Status and Stormzy continue their reign at the top The Official UK Singles Chart for the second week in a row with their collaboration 'BACKBONE'.
The track, which combines Chase & Status' high-energy drum and bass production with Stormzy's commanding lyricism, remains the most streamed song in the UK this week, with an impressive 5.5 million streams.
After the single debuted at No.1 in the UK last week, Chase & Status, made up of Saul Milton and Will Kennard, said of the Stormzy collaboration: “We knew linking up with Stormzy would create something special , but we did it Don't expect a KO reaction like this.”
“Seeing him run out to our show at the Milton Keynes Bowl in his maid of honor straight from a wedding in front of 45,000 people was crazy!” they added. “One of the best British MCs to ever do it, spitting DnB. And to go straight to number 1? It couldn't get any better for us.”
This week's highest new entry belongs to the power duo of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Their track 'Die with a Smile' debuts at No.7, marking Gaga's 15th and Mars' 11th UK Top 10 single. quickly pushed the track into the Top 10.
Meanwhile, BL3SS, CamrinWatsin and bbyclose celebrate their first Top 5 single as their summer dance hit 'Kisses' climbs to a new peak at No.5.
Belfast rising star Jordan Adetunji also continues his rise, with his catchy track 'KEHLANI' climbing to No.8, marking another milestone in his career.
Elsewhere on the board, the “HOT TO GO!” of Chappell Roan. enters the Top 10, reaching No. 10 after 14 weeks on the chart, thanks in part to a surprise performance with Olivia Rodrigo in Los Angeles. Indian rapper Hanumankind and producer Kalmi also make their mark on the UK charts, with their track 'Big Dawgs' jumping six places to reach No.15.
In other notable moves, Sonny Fodera, Jazzy and DOD's “Somedays” continues to climb, now at No. 16, while Taylor Swift's “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” climbs to No. 21 after its release Eras tour – Filmed Music Video.
Finally, Gigi Perez's “Sailor Song” makes its first Top 40 appearance, climbing to No. 35, and Gracie Abrams' “I Love You, I'm Sorry” gains a new peak at No. 37.
