Buffalo emcee/producer Che Noir releases her 7th EP ahead of the 1 year anniversary of her predecessor Big Ghost Ltd. Noir or Never. Discovering her after 38 Spesh signed Che to TCF Music Group and fully produced her first 3 EPs, her debut full production by Apollo Brown As God willed and then the 4th EP of her own production After 12 o'clock during the 2nd half of 2020 where its potential began to blossom exponentially. He has since followed it up with the sophomore effort Food for thought as The last remnants & Noir or Never as I mentioned before, that's how I got in The Chocolate Color interested in hearing what is said to be the first of many projects he has this year.
“Peaches & Herb” featuring Ransom kicks things off with a sample of soul that advises accepting losses as something you have to learn leading into “Junior High” featuring Evidence & Your Old Droog working in some pianos with a vocal knock that is heard in the same. page with each other conceptually. “Greek Scholar” with ICECOLDBISHOP starts its 2nd semester The color Chocolate combines those kicks and snares with synths in a fight for money and power before the Graymatter-produced “Vanilla Skies” wraps up the EP as a whole with its soulful, lonesome solo over a summery boom-bam instrumental.
The Chocolate Color It's said to be just the beginning of the world fully knowing Che Noir's art along with who she is and I'm sure we'll get another piece of work from her soon that I'll like more but yeah this will hold up just fine until she comes along time. The production is a mix of boom bap, soul samples & synthesizers with guests on almost every song giving equally impressive performances as one of Buffalo's best. I can't wait to hear what the rest of 2024 has in store for her.
