What makes you a DJ when you play center in the NBA?
By now, many of us are familiar with the electronic music career of Hall of Fame NBA center Shaquille O'Neal, affectionately known by his fans as DJ Diesel. Now enters Houston Rockets star Boban Marjanović, who is tied with two others as the tallest player in the NBA.
After releasing a techno track, “I Just Wanna,” this summer, Marjanović recently performed a large-scale DJ set during this year’s “Rave The Planet” parade. It’s a massive celebration of techno culture and a spiritual successor to Berlin’s iconic Love Parade.
Videos shared by Marjanović and his followers on social media show him hunched over DJ turntables that barely reach his waist. The towering basketball star, who appeared as a villain in John Wick 3 In 2019, he was joined on stage by fellow Serbian Lanna and German DJ Human Rias.
The trio performed a selection of high-energy techno tracks while getting the crowd excited and confused. This year’s show also featured appearances by Farrago, Catz ‘N Dogz, Denise Schneider, Tube & Berger, and EDM.com’s Class of 2023 star AMÉMÉ, among many others.
