All Chlöe Bailey wants is love. On her new single “FYS” — which stands for the NSFW title “F–k Your Status” — she screams that she desires a love that isn't tied to a person's fame or wealth.
Arriving on digital streaming platforms on Friday (March 1), “FYS” marks Chlöe's first music release of 2024. The Grammy-nominated R&B star's first teased her new single via X on Tuesday (February 27) sharing a snippet of the song with the caption, “FYS. What do you think it means? Guess right and I'll fall.”
The next day, the “In Pieces” singer. revealed the official artwork and track title. On Wednesday (February 28), Chlöe took to her social media accounts to share another clip of “FYS” that found her coronation, “F–k your status, f–k your status/ It's okay/ Money, cars and diamonds/ Don't phase me, I had it/ F–k your status/ I just, just wantna love you, baby / What do you want to do;” over an atmospheric trap electro-R&B beat.
2023 marked a pivotal year for Chlöe, who is one half of Chloe x Halle, the Grammy-nominated duo she formed with her sister Halle Bailey. She released her debut solo studio album, In pieces, which peaked at No. 119 on the Billboard 200 and featured notable tracks like lead single “Pray It Away,” the semi-viral uptempo banger “Body Do,” and a controversial Chris Brown collaboration called “How Does It Feel.” In support of the album, Chlöe embarked on a 25-date North American and European tour.
Of course, Chlöe made her official solo debut with 2021's “Have Mercy,” a raucous ode to derrières that peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. To date, Chlöe has scored four Hot 100 hits, including ” Treat Me” (No. 81), “You & Me” (No. 72, featuring Gunna) and the 2023 Amazon Music exclusive “Winter Wonderland” (No. 63)
