Chris Stapleton was the musical guest on last night's episode Saturday night live, hosted by Ryan Gosling, marking his third time playing the show. To ring in his comeback, Stapleton performed the Grammy-winning “White Horse” (with backing vocals by his wife, Morgane Stapleton) and “Mountains of My Mind,” both of which appear on his latest album. Higher is Stapleton's fifth studio album. Last year, he performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Super Bowl and covered the band's song “The Weight” for the in memoriam segment at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. For the latter, Stapleton was joined by Elton John, Brittany Howard and Sheryl Crow.
