Christina Aguilera has colourfully responded to rumours she has been taking Ozempic.
The 43-year-old chart icon has drawn attention from fans in recent months over her toned figure – with speculation that she has been taking weight loss drugs emerging as a result.
But the Dirrty singer doesn’t care if fans think she’s been injecting semaglutide and says she’s too old to engage with critics’ idle speculation.
Opening up to Glamour, Christina defiantly said, “I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f**k about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on.”
She added, “It must be your responsibility to take up your space. Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.”
The American star went on to reflect on the criticism and scrutiny her body has been subjected to since she burst into the spotlight in the 1990s.
She said, “When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s.
“I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting thicker.’ Then I had industry people: ‘They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.'”
Explaining that her self-esteem was ruled by “how skinny” she was, the mum-of-two said she would hate to see her kids experience what she did.
Christina said, “Your kids trigger things in you that you don’t want them to go through and it’s almost like you’re reliving this whole thing again.”
