Cinema: ComplexCon 2024 Delivered on Vibes

In this case, everything that happened in Las Vegas probably had a camera pointed at them. We're talking about ComplexCon, which this past weekend delivered on its promise to bring together creatives, artists, fans, and unrepentant beasts to share their energy and sell and buy exclusive merchandise.

As previously mentionedit all went down at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and it was clear from the start that ComplexCon had plenty of traffic, as they say. The line to get into the convention center was well down the block before the doors opened, and the crowds were out in force both days.

The thousands in attendance (reportedly 60,000 per band) had plenty to take in with activations from big brands such as Nike, adidas and Chips Ahoy! (seriously, they have a collaboration with Big Sean that includes a Large Chewy Cookie x Don Life capsule collection) and smaller but important groups Crocs, Awake and New Era. Some of the artists and talent spotted included Salehe Bembury, Offset, Gunna, Austin Rivers, Keith Lee (his food options were highlighted in the food court) and Machine Gun Kelly, among many others.

Aside from the show panel, there were also must-see panels like the Drink Champs live taping which featured NORE sharing his usual lack of focus (respectfully) while interviewing Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg (they also played songs from their upcoming album and the infamous Sneaker of the Year panel with host Joe LaPuma Yachty calling out the “hate” he was getting from the sneaker influencer and creative Bimma Williams for collaborating of Air Force 1 with Nike (they have since straddled the rift).

As for the shows, fans were treated to Metro Boomin (who opened for Playboi Carti) on Saturday night and Travis Scott (who Don Toliver, Chase B and Mike Dean) on Sunday night. The latter got that thumbs up on the ComplexCon scales thanks to his big activation with Nike and his own proper CactusCon activation that featured some of his favorite collabs and even a concept for Dope Screwed Up Records & Tapes.
