After a 13-year journey as a comedian that saw him overcome loss, discover love and make countless audiences across America laugh, comedian Cliff Cash announced the release of his debut special. The long road
Its launch is scheduled for October 20 through Cash's YouTube Channel, The long road was filmed at Thalian Hall in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina, and features jokes he forged through a life lived with the determined point of view of a class clown. Cash started out as an open mic performer and eventually forged his own path as stand-up, resisting the pull of comedy meccas like Los Angeles and New York and instead touring extensively, often living out of a modified van. In the years since, he lost a father, a business, a marriage and more, but used comedy as an anchor to weather the storm.
“Comedy is a marathon, not a sprint,” Cash said in a statement. “It requires a certain level of tenacity. It's hard, no matter how funny you are. There have been times when my logical mind told me, “go away,” but that little boy, the adventurer, the class clown, just can't. I just love him too much to leave him.”
Now, The long road It will come as a testament to your determination; As his press release says, the special is “a love story, a road comedian who has fallen deeply in love with the journey of life.”
Additionally, the special gives voice to Cash's political perspective, humorously contrasting liberal ideals of tolerance with America's less-than-tolerant political currents, which often manifest themselves in the most colorful ways in the South, as he observed through of his right-wing upbringing.
