Coal Chamber were due to kick off a US tour with Fear Factory, Twizted and Black Satellite next week, but the outing has been postponed after frontman Dez Fafara experienced a near-death medical emergency.
The “Fiend for the Fans Tour” was supposed to begin on August 23, but is now scheduled to begin on March 5, 2005 in Denver and continue through an April 18 show in Maplewood, Minnesota, with Tickets available here.

Fafara, who had previously battled long COVID, detailed his harrowing medical experience in an open letter to his fans, writing:
“With a heavy heart, let me tell you a story about a turn in life. I am writing to you from my bed.
I've been running 6 miles a day, I've been rehearsing two hours a day in my home studio, and I'm excited to get out on the road, I'm excited to get on a bus with my brothers and sister and my team. I've never felt better, and as you all know, I fought hard after long-haul COVID-19 tried to kill me.
On Saturday morning I woke up and was walking up the stairs. I saw flashes in my eyes. I passed out and my wife revived me. My vitals were through the roof, I was pale as a sheet and vomiting, and the whole world was spinning. Anahstasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and spent nine hours in the ER getting all my vitals checked, including x-rays of my heart and lungs. My doctor has recommended I get a CT scan, and until I have more tests done, I am on bed rest and must postpone the tour. Our agent has sprung into action to rebook this tour for March 2025, and until we can figure out what the heck is going on medically.
See you in March 2025 on the Fiend For The Fans tour. This tour postponement is surreal, I was looking forward to playing with my band and connecting with my fans, friends and family on the road.
I want to take a moment to thank you all for your outpouring of love and for the calls and texts you have sent me to check in on me. It seems the word has gotten out and the entire industry has been calling my phone since Sunday; musicians, agents, managers and I really appreciate it.
My band has been incredibly understanding and calls me every hour. I am so grateful for their supportive nature.
Kiss your loved ones, no one is promised a tomorrow. I will fight to be back with you on stage, you can be sure of that too. I will keep you posted on my social media about what is happening. My apologies if this news causes you to rearrange your schedules to attend the concert with us and I want to thank you in advance. We are all really in the dark and I am looking forward to finding out what is going on. CHEERS.”
Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares added: “Sometimes you have to make tough decisions and I know Dez, if he could be on tour right now, he would, but health and family come first. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to a successful 2025 Fiends for the Fans tour.”
