Long-running British punk band Cock Sparrer have announced their latest album. The LP, titled Hand on heartwill arrive on April 5, 2024.
Cock Sparrer formed in 1972, before bands such as the Sex Pistols and The Clash, but never achieved the commercial success of their UK counterparts. Amazingly, they still have the same original four members – singer Colin McFaull, guitarist Mick Beaufoy, bassist Steve Burgess and drummer Steve Bruce – as well as guitarist Daryl Smith, who has been with the band himself for more than 30 years .
Hand on heart will be Cock Sparrer's eighth album overall and the follow-up to 2017's Forever. The band will celebrate the LP with two record shows: on April 6 at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and on April 13 at Glasgow's O2 Academy, with tickets available here.
A press release promises the Cock Sparrer's “iconic, anthemic sound.” Hand on heart, but with a few surprises, including a string arrangement by Simon Dobson (who has worked with Bring Me the Horizon). The album was produced by the band's aforementioned guitarist Darryl Smith alongside James Bragg, and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Kevin Tuffy.
Pre-orders of Hand on heart available on various vinyl and cassette formats via Pirates Press Records. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.
