Coldplay's Music of the Spheres Tour has officially made history as the highest-grossing rock tour of all time.
According BillboardThe tour has grossed $945.7 million and sold 8.8 million tickets since its launch in March 2022. These figures have surpassed the previous record holder, Sir Elton John, whose “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” grossed $939.1 million during its run from 2018 to 2023.
With 21 more shows scheduled on their “Music of the Spheres Tour,” Coldplay is also on track to become the first rock band to achieve a $1 billion tour with more than 10 million ticket sales. Find tickets for their upcoming shows here.
However, Coldplay is unlikely to surpass Taylor Swift, whose “The Eras Tour” currently holds the all-time record for the highest-grossing tour. That tour is estimated to reach $2 billion in sales when it ends later this year.
Coldplay's new album (and somewhat irregular track listing included) is due out October 4.
