The concert, at Narendra Modi Stadium, will take place in January and feature a mystery guest
Coldplay will perform at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India on Jan. 25, 2025, marking the British rock band’s biggest show to date. The cricket stadium, which holds 132,000 people, is the largest in the world and is one of several shows Coldplay has scheduled in Asia as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour.
The band announced the Ahmedabad concert today on social media, noting that they will be joined by a “mystery guest” yet to be announced. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Nov. 16 at 12 p.m. IST.
Coldplay launched the Music of the Spheres tour in 2022, following the 2021 release of their Music of the Spheres album. Since then the band dropped another new album, Moon Music, which is officially titled Music of the Spheres Vol. II: Moon Music. The tour will bring Coldplay to North America as well as Asia next year, with dates scheduled for stadiums around the United States and two dates in Toronto in May, June, and July.
The band recently wrapped a string of dates in Australia and New Zealand, during which frontman Chris Martin fell through the stage in Melbourne at the Marvel Stadium. Following their rendition of “Everglow,” Martin stumbled backwards while addressing the crowd and fell through a similar trap door. A crew member reached up from the trap door and caught Martin as he tumbled, but the frontman was still clearly shaken, noting, “That’s, uh, not planned.”
Last month, Coldplay stopped by Saturday Night Live to perform their songs “All My Love” and “We Pray,” both from Moon Music. Coldplay were joined on stage during “We Pray” by Elyanna and Tini, who feature on the track. The song has five versions, including one from Glastonbury this past summer.
