Common has admitted he “is the marrying type” after all.
The 51-year-old rapper had previously claimed he never wanted to get married. But, since he’s been dating Jennifer Hudson, it looks like he might have changed his mind.
In an interview with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the Today show, they asked him about his feelings on marriage.
“I feel like I have grown and the work that I’ve done on myself has allowed me to see that I am the marrying type,” he said. “I had the capacity. At some point in my life, I may want to do that. I would know when the right time is.”
Common was previously engaged to Kim Jones. The pair split in 2008 and have a daughter, Omoye Assata Lynn, 26.
He was in a relationship with Taraji P Henson in 2005, and Serena Williams from 2005 to 2007.
Over the past few months, the star has been seen with Jennifer Hudson. He recently confirmed their relationship.
“She’s smart. She loves God. She has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented,” he said of the singer and actress.
